"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Well last time I checked photoshop 5 had layer blending modes, heck Ive used photoshop 4 with fine results. And I thought I was pretty nice in suggesting it. Its not really art if its manufactured with premade filters, it takes no skill.
